Happy Birthday Uncle Jay

John's Uncle Jay and Aunt Wynn are some of the sweetest people we know. They always welcome us into their home with open arms and have such a wonderful countenance. This past weekend we made the trek to Draper, Utah to celebrated Jay's 75th Birthday.

Adrianna and her cousin Claire. For some reason Adrianna became attached to these tigger sunglasses and refused to take them off.

Ashlyn having fun at the park

John's cousins Daren and Aereta were able to come from Arizona. It was nice to see them and catch up. These beautiful kids are theirs. Page, Adrianna (in her tigger glasses of course), Mitchell, and Claire. Page and Claire were awesome little babysitters. Thanks girls!

Ashlyn staying hydrated in the summer heat. It always amazes me that no
matter how hot or cold my kids keep playing away. They don't care either way.

After a long day full of fun, good food, good company and a little trip to Ikea the girls crashed. Auntie Laura came back from Utah with us and is staying for a couple days. The kids love their "Waura."

We had such a wonderful weekend visiting with family. I really love John's family and am glad that they have welcomed me as part of their own. Thanks you everyone for the great weekend!

Fun In The Sun

The kids and I decided Friday that it would be fun to go swimming at the Ross Park Aquatic Center. Our good buddies the Forseys and Browns tagged along which made for a fun filled afternoon. Ashlyn had fun guiding her little sister around and hanging with her friends. Adrianna was a little shocked by the freezing water but she eventually got over it. Lydia looked so dang adorable in her little sun hat and Jessi, Mandy and I had fun soaking up some rays ( some of us got a little red). Good times were had by all. Thanks guys for a fun day!

The Bunk Beds

A few months ago we decided that it was time to move the girls into the same room and use the extra space for an office. Our computer is currently in our room and things get pretty hairy when John wants to do his homework at 6 am! Anyways we decided that bunk beds would be ideal since we have a small space. After a couple weeks of searching John decided that he wanted to make the bunk beds. I must admit I was a little skeptical at first but have since changed my mind. So I present to you the finished product ( I love the picket fence). There were many long hard hours spent cutting, sanding and painting. In the process John has acquired a new hobby and plans to make many more awesome things. The girls now have something made by daddy that they will cherish for years to come.

10 Year Reunion

Recently we had the opportunity to attend John's 10 year high school reunion. We had a great time especially at the family carnival. John caught up with those he hadn't seen in a while and we got to hang out with friends. John has a couple good buddies from high school that we try and get together with as much as possible, their wives are all amazing!

Adrianna, with the help of a nice girl, eventually had fun.

Adrianna decided the pool was too cold so she chose to play in the grass.

We love Elmo

Yesterday my precious angels woke up at the lovely hour of 5 am( yeah not so precious then). Upon my arrival home from work I found them in a three way cuddle with Elmo. Usually Ashlyn doesn't take naps so for her to fall asleep on the floor with Elmo and Adrianna probably meant she was especially tired. I thought this picture was to cute not to share!

The newest addition to out family

Meet Suzie Q, the newest addition to our family...sort of. John was more that ecstatic when he received his precious dual BBQ. (one side is for propane grilling, the other for charcoal and smoking stuff) Now every meal will be a grilled meal thanks to John and his excellent grilling skills. Watch out Bobby Flay!

John is such a wonderful father to our beautiful little girls. I am amazed on a daily basis how much love and patience he has to offer. He never complains and is always willing to help with the kids. Ashlyn and Adrianna absolutely adore him! I am so thankful for his support and his dedication to our family. Thank you John for being a wonderful father and husband. We love you. Happy Father's Day ( Sorry I'm a day late).
