Christmas 2008

We are so fortunate to have both our families nearby! We had three wonderful Christmas celebrations this year. Our girls are so lucky to have such neat Grandparents, Uncles and Aunties! Our tradition since we've been married is to spend Christmas Eve with my family, then spend the night at my in-laws and open presents first thing. Thank you to all of our family for making Christmas so special. We love you all!

Uh Oh!

Caught Red Handed

Guess who decided to eat most of the goodies I made to give out to our family and friends. Ashlyn was the instigator of this little sneaky act, but she didn't leave a trace! Being guilty never looked so cute.

Santa Closet

Recently we made our annual trip to see Santa Claus (or Santa Closet as Adrianna calls him). This year Ashlyn was brave and walked up to Santa and asked him for a doll, barbie and barbie tools (no idea what barbie tools are) and Polly pocket. Adrianna was perfectly content to watch from the sidelines.

Ashlyn was more than excited to sit on Santa's lap. This is a huge improvement from last year when we had to carry our bawling and screaming babies out of the mall.

Of course no mall visit would be complete with out a trip to the play place (man that place smells like stinky kid feet and B.O.). Ashlyn and Adrianna love our friends little girl, here they are trying to show her their Christmas coloring books they got from Santa.

Breaking News....John Loves Kellie

I realize that I am not a perfect huband and I don't tell my wife how much I love her or appreciate her. I don't really like to hold hands and the kids prevent us from making-out as often as I would like. So I decided I wanted to tell Kellie that I love her. I wanted to go shout it from a mountain top, but I don't have a mountain top....I have access to her blog. I would like to list for you 9 reasons (not listed in any particular order, nor are the limited to)

1. She puts up with me (a jerk and intimidating have been used to describe me more than once).
2. She is always willing to scratch my back (it helps me fall asleep)
3. She is very dedicated to school (she studies more in one day than I do all semester)
4. She puts up with my need to eat bbq everyday (if you didn't see the BBQ Song vid, click HERE).
5. She loves our kids very much and is always teaching them.
6. She is the spiritual rock in our family.
7. She doesn't mind the funeral thing (I'm sure I tell her more than she really wishes to know)
8. She is the social planner of our family (believe me, I would never go out of the house without her)
9. She supports all my crazy ideas and knows when to pull me back down to earth (ask her about the special pillowcase I invented)

I love you Kellie.

The Case Of The Missing Tree

Today started out like any other day in the Perkes household until we decided to get festive and put up our decorations. To our dismay we discovered that our Christmas tree has gone missing! How do you lose a Christmas tree? I have a theory that the crazy man who rang my doorbell at 2:30am snuck into my garage and took it, how's that for paranoia! My poor tree, will we ever meet again? Oh the sheer and utter insanity!!
