Christmas with the Pierces

Christmas Eve is usually spent with my family. This tradition started when I was young. We have a big Christmas Eve dinner followed by games. The kids loved all the Christmas presents under the tree. In fact they wanted to open every one!

Our stocking numbers seem to increase every year. This year one was added for Ashley!

The kids watching Dora's Christmas with Grandma.

Ashlyn couldn't wait to open presents. The anticipation was all to much. She walked around most of Christmas Eve saying " I want my presents." One of my favorite thing to ask her this year was " Ashlyn did you know that Santa is coming?" Her response was "Yes, mommy I love Santa Clause." Always said with much enthusiasm. It's a lot of fun when your kids start getting the whole Santa concept!

This year Adrianna really got into Christmas. She, like her sister, couldn't wait to open presents. After opening her presents she of course played with the wrapping paper and bows all lying on the floor instead of her actual gifts.

And the biggest surprise of the evening........The XBOX 360.

Christmas with the Perkes

Christmas morning we awoke to the wonderful sight of the presents under the tree. John woke me up at about 5:30 to let me know that Santa Claus had come. Christmas morning at the Perkes is always fun!

John absolutely loves Alton Brown. This book was right up his alley!

Ashlyn is a Dora the Explorer freak! She still hasn't taken off back pack!

The Perkes family gathered around for the annual Christmas morning breakfast casserole!

John made the Christmas dinner Turkey. He put the turkey in a brine. The recipe was none other than Alton Brown's. I must admit, it was pretty delicious!

I AM DONE

This morning at the lovely hour of 6 I hit my alarm, stared at the wall, and eventually dragged myself to the shower. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't woke up every hour worried that my alarm didn't go off. After I managed to eat an apple I drove off to take my last final exam. Today was Biology. Fun Stuff. My break can officially begin!!

Christmas with MOTAB!

On Saturday I went to see Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The special guests this year were the King's Singers. Every year tickets are so hard to come by so this year they did a "lottery". My mother-in-law happened to win the tickets. I am so grateful that she shared these tickets with me and my parents. It was truly amazing! The choir's version of O Holy Night was breath taking. Afterwords we walked through temple square to look at the lights. I absolutely love temple square this time of year. It is so beautiful and bright! I had such an amazing time!

What a Pair

About ten minutes after I put the girls to bed, I heard giggling. Adrianna had crawled into bed with Ashlyn. When I found them they were reading books to each other and hugging.

These two are the best of friends! Together they cause some pretty great chaos!!

Adrianna can be such a ham sometimes! I couldn't get mad at these two for not going to bed, they are just too dang cute! After all I remember all the times my brother and I would make forts in our beds after we thought our parents went to bed!

What's the deal!

What is it with kids and being sick ALL THE TIME during the winter season. It feels like my kids have been sick for months now. Today John took Adrianna to the doctor because she has pink eye and an eyelid infection. Poor baby girl looks like someone punched her in the eye! Ashlyn has had a nasty cold and sour stomach. I'm sure she's next in line for pink eye. I hope that I don't get it! I can't imagine walking in to take my final with a nasty eye! Anyways I long for the summer when my children are happy and disease free!!!

Adrianna's Baby

Adrianna loves dolls. Today she wanted her baby doll to take a nap with her. It was so cute, I had to tuck the doll in too!
