Dynamic Duo

I thought you all might like to know how we spend our day's here at the Perkes house. Today while I was folding laundry Ashlyn decided to get into the Pancake mix.

Uh-oh caught red handed!! Notice Ashlyn chose to wear a skirt today on the coldest day of the century! She refused to put on her pants. It's a miracle I got her tights on.

Of course Adrianna has to see what's going on. Ashlyn and her are quite the pair when it comes to mischievousness!

"Sure I'll help you Ashlyn, what are sisters for!"

"Let's see how much pancake mix we can spill on the floor before mom stops us."

" Ok let's be creative and spread the pancake mix all around"

These two keep John and I on our toes. There is never a dull moment. I often find myself chuckling at these little ones, especially when I'm in class and find a page in my text book has been colored red. Sneaky Sneaky! Seriously I love my little girls, I can't really remember my life without them and don't ever want to. On a side note, isn't Ashlyn's hair so cute. John learned how to do hair on youtube and then did Ashlyn's while I was in class.

Elmo Cake

We celebrated Adrianna's birthday a couple weeks late due to John's trip to Pittsburgh. John makes the girl's birthday cakes every year. This year we had an Elmo themed party with an Elmo cake. I must say John is getting pretty good at this whole cake making thing! We all had a fun time and Adrianna is thoroughly enjoying her new presents!

Ok so now Ashlyn's pictures have become more advanced. John asked her to draw daddy and this is what she came up with. I get so excited when she makes progress like this! Yeah Ashlyn!!

The Primanti Brothers Sandwich

Kellie doesn't let me put stuff on this very often (in fact, I have only posted one other thing). But she is not home right now, so here it goes.

I introduce you to the Primanti Brothers sandwich. I just got back from being in Pittsburgh for a couple of weeks attending a mortuary college deal and was introduced to this sandwich while there. This place called Primanti Brothers only sells one thing....the sandwich to the left. In fact, the only choice you get to make is your beverage and the type of meat to go on it. Every sandwich comes with the same things....thick french bread...tomato...collslaw...french fries...and meat....all on the sandwich. It is freaking awesome! So awesome that I consumed it 8 times in 7 days.

I was sad to find out while looking for a picture of the sandwich on the internet, that each sandwich is about 1500 calories. I immediately regret eating there twice in one day. However, I still love it and don't think I will be able to eat another "regular" sandwich ever again. I look forward to the appoximately 269 days until I am in Pittsburgh again.

First Day of School

So today was the first day back to school for John and I. We survived alright and enjoyed all our classes thus far. John is amazing, he is taking physics, math 143 (college algebra), business statistics, ethics and some anthropology class about people of the south pacific. On top of that he has his classes through mortuary college. Good thing he has guitar hero to play when he needs a break! My class schedule includes English 102 (critical reading and writing) microeconomics, social diversity, intro to communication disorders, and of course math 025 (the most basic math available, I'm a little rusty on my math skills!) Also, I am working at Speech Therapy Services, aka the clinic, two days a week. I think this will provide me with valuable experience. Anyways we are psyched and ready for a great semester!!

New Years Resolutions

I know I'm a little late in the game here being the majority of you have posted your new years resolutions. I had to have a little time to think about this one. So here it goes.

1. Be nicer to John. I really mean it!
2. Start keeping a daily journal. I already got a head start on that one. I've been doing good since the beginning of December.
3. Put forth an "A" effort in all of my classes
4. Stick to a plan! John and Is schedules for next semester are so jammed packed that we had to sit down and plan out every minute of our day. Thank goodness we have weekends free. This also fits in the category of sticking to a budget.
5. Try to be less uptight. I can let the littlest things bug me sometimes. This year I'm gonna try to let the small things go and relax.
6. Last and final, continue on not smoking :)

There you have it, my 2008 New Years goals (exciting I know). Just a little update on our family, John has been working hard in Pittsburgh. He is there for a Mortuary College embalming lab. So far he has really enjoyed being there and learning. He can't wait to get home though. Within a few days of arriving home, we both will start our 2008 spring semester at ISU. While John's been away I have been recovering from a sinus infection and a dang pesky cough that just won't go away! I'm feeling a lot better today than I have in a week. The kids also have been sick of course. But that doesn't get them down. Their still as active as ever! Thank goodness for my parents! Adrianna turned two on the fifth but we are celebrating her birthday on the nineteenth. So every one get ready to party! Anyways I hope you all have a wonderful 2008.

Digital Scrapbooking

Ok so I found this website called http://www.shabbyprincess.com. It is a digital scrapbook sight. This is were I found my current background. If you visit http://sjhblogdesign.blogspot.com/ it will tell you how to design your own blog page with your digital scrapbook downloads. It takes a few minutes but the end product is lots of fun!
