After spending Christmas Eve with the Pierces we head over to the Perkes to spend the night. Christmas morning is always a delight. A few of this years highlights.......
Santa left giant bean bags and a ton of books, he must know how passionate these girls are about reading. A few other things Santa brought were a Barbie, Sponge Bob Play dough and a Garfield Chia pet. Excellent!
Presents, presents, Presents! Half the fun is unwrapping then immediately throwing the paper on the floor!
Ashlyn has enjoyed learning about different countries in school. She received a world map from grandma and grandpa and is so anxious to get back to school and learn more!
For the past two years John has tried to make the Jack In The Box head for Halloween and various other occasions. However every year the head cracks or breaks. To his surprise the last gift of the morning was this well crafted head. My mother-in-law obviously put many hours into this, thank you Marci for making John's day!
More highlights....
Uncle Mike flew in from New York and surprised us all with his beard.
Marci made her annual Christmas morning breakfast casserole, yummy!
I received what is quite possibly the warmest blanket on the planet.
Laura's anticipation, she turned 13 (ooops I mean 16) Monday and can officially date!
We are extremely grateful for our families. Each unique with their own traditions and beliefs that have made John and I the individuals we are today. We are grateful for their examples of kindness, pure love, and compassion; all things we hope to install into our own children. Through them we have learned to be parents, through them we have learned to give and most of all we have learned to be strong through adversity. Thanks you for teaching us the true meaning behind Christmas, thank you for helping us realize it when we were less than willing to see. We are blessed beyond measure!
