Ashlyn's Birthday Party

This past weekend we celebrated Ashlyn's 4th birthday with a super cool Little Mermaid party. The girls are in Princess heaven with all the fun stuff Ashlyn received for her birthday. My friend Elsha took these wonderful pictures. I love how she captured every detail of the party! We had a great time with our friends and family, thank you for all the great gifts and birthday wishes. On a side note, John did make the cake and it was delicious!!! Also if you have a Disney princess (or any Disney character) fan at home check this out. Ariel called Ashlyn today to wish her a Happy Birthday, her response was so cute, she loved it!

Dancing, Mermaid and Dress Up

Today started off as any ordinary busy day when I realized that I didn't have class or any pressing appointments. I decided a well deserved day spent in my jammies was in order. My girls and I danced tell we couldn't dance anymore. We watched the new Little Mermaid movie and loved every minute of it. We played dress up and laughed so hard that now my abs are sore (I need to do this more often)! I miss being a kid! When did I ever get so busy that I forgot how to slow down and enjoy the small and simple things? When did I turn into the paranoid mom that is totally afraid to let her kids get dirty? Well you all are hearing it today, no more. From this point on I am going to let it go. I am going to shake my booty more often, sluff homework time every once and a while, and spend more time playing dress up!

Five Things I am Grateful For

1. For my faith. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father who has blessed me ten fold and my Savior Jesus Christ for carrying burdens that were to much for me to bear alone.

2. For my wonderful husband and precious little girls. My husband is so amazing, he cooks, sews, and does woodworking. He finds time to work, attend classes and spend time with the kids. He is a man of many talents and is our rock! He is a great man to handle me through all of my many "moods." I love you more than words can express John! My darling little girls are my heart and soul, I can't imagine what my life was like without them. They are my motivation is all things. I am so grateful for the opportunity Heavenly Father has given me to be a mommy!

3. My Folks. My Father has always been a guiding light and great example of what a true man should be. He is always patient and kind and never complains. He is a wonderful grandpa and a awesome dad! My Mother is a women of great strength and character. She has shown me that no matter what I have been through I can always pull out of it. She lives for her kids and grand kids and is always there for us no matter what! Thank you mom for showing me how to be a mother. Thank you for showing me how to be strong and face the world head on. Thank you for being my friend.

4. My In-Laws. My mother-in law always has a great attitude. She is always smiling and laughing. She has shown me the true meaning of forgiveness through her Christ like example.
My father-in-law is a dedicated man. Once he sets his mind to something he follows through. His hard work ethic has been something I have always admired, a strong ethic that both his sons have inherited.

5. My Friends. I am blessed to have so many people care about me. Whether old or new I have a special place in my heart for all of you.

There are so many things I am grateful for, these are just a few! I encourage all of you to post what you are grateful for.

Happy Birthday John!

To my guitar hero, you are the apple of my eye, the peanut butter to my jelly, the vinegar base to my BBQ sauce...the love of my life! Thank you for being a wonderful husband. Thank you for supporting and loving me even when I'm not very lovable. I love you sooooo much. Rock on!!

D'oh!

Today started out as any other extremely busy day. I went about my daily business (class, class, and more class) all the while writing the date (the 15th) in my notebook. Later in the day I realized that today was NOT the 15th, it is the 16th. I had the biggest D'oh moment of my entire married life, today my wonderful husband turns 29. I am so sorry honey!! I thought today was the 15th, I'm so sorry for not even giving you a simple "Happy Birthday." I deserve a spankin!

Oh How I Love Thee!

As I sit here studying all the wonderful types of epithelial, connective and muscle tissues, I can't help but notice my stomach rumbling. Chocolate Cake is on my brain and nothing else can get past it. I face a dilemma, do I give in and completely ruin my work out or do I sit here agonizing over my beloved cake? What to do, what to do?
